Publish a world

There are two tiers, and only one of them costs anything. Read both before you reach for a card — most people should take the free one.

STANDALONE TIER — FREE, FOREVER, NO ACCOUNT

Host it yourself

Serve one JSON file on a domain you control and thread://<your-host> is a live place that any conformant browser can walk into. No submission, no review, no list to be on.

https://<your-host>/.well-known/thread/world.json

This is the standard. It is permissionless on purpose — if Pixygon disappeared tomorrow your world would keep working, and that asymmetry is how you can tell an open medium from a platform. How to author one →

REGISTRY TIER — $19 ONCE

Have Pixygon host and list it

You send us a world.json; we host it at worlds.pixygon.io/<your-path>, list it on Places so people find it, and point the presence relay at it so travelers can meet there. You do not run a server, renew a certificate, or keep anything up.

  • A permanent thread://worlds.pixygon.io/… address.
  • Listed on Places and returned by the public registry API.
  • Presence relay enabled, so the people in your world are really there.
  • Manifest updates whenever you send a new one — no extra charge.
  • 1900 Lumen of Pixygon credit, usable across every Pixygon app.

A person reads every submission before it goes live — the registry is curated, which is the only reason it is worth being on. We will tell you if we are not going to publish it, and refund you.

One payment. No subscription.

Before you pay

Run the conformance suite over your world first — it is the same check we run, so passing it locally means the submission is a formality rather than a conversation.

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Pixygon/thread-engine/main/install.sh | sh
thread-conformance myworlds/ # exit 0 = ✓ CONFORMANT

Nothing on the registry is required to make a world real. If you would rather not pay anyone anything, publish standalone — that path is not a lesser one, it is the one the specification describes.
